Savills - Cornwall Agent Valuation of this property is £650,000

Description:

A truly immaculate two bedroom traditional Cornish Cottage, stylishly decorated and furnished with superb sea views in a magnificent setting.

Location

The Location
Cornwall’s unique character comes from its historic landscape and some 400 miles of spectacular coastline. This superb property occupies a magnificent setting in the heart of the countryside with views over open farmland to the rear and to the front the Atlantic Ocean.

The village of Zennor lies between St Ives and St Just, on the Atlantic coast of Cornwall. It lies above the high, rocky cliffs of the coast and the rugged, boulder-strewn, granite hills and moors. This is a romantic, wild and brooding landscape which has been inhabited for at least 4000 years.

The Norman church of St Senara in Zennor probably stands on the site of a 6th century Celtic church. It was restored in 1890. Two medieval bench-ends remain and have been made into a seat. One end is the famous carving of the Mermaid of Zennor. She holds a comb and a mirror in her hands. Legend claims that this siren enticed Matthew Trewhella, the handsome son of a churchwarden, into the sea. He was never seen again! The South West Coast path is but a short walk away as is the Tinners Arms and the well reputed Gurnard’s Head Bar & Restaurant.

St Ives centre is just a short drive away and is home to the landmark Tate St Ives Gallery (built in 1993) and the famous Barbara Hepworth Museum, St Ives is bordered by three beautiful sandy beaches which are repeatedly voted among the best in the British Isles, one particularly for surfing. Set against the colourful backdrop of the working fishing harbour, the turquoise waters of St. Ives have attracted artists since the 19th century due to its renowned clarity of light. The town, with winding cobbled streets, is also a ‘foodie’ destination packed with numerous restaurants, pubs and cafes all offering excellent fare including the award-winning Porthminster Beach Café.

At nearby Lelant, overlooking the Hayle Estuary there is a spectacular links golf course with views stretching up towards Godrevy Lighthouse. A scenic branch railway line links Carbis Bay and St. Ives with the main London-Penzance line at nearby St. Erth. National supermarkets are to be found in Carbis Bay, Hayle & Penzance whilst in St Just there is an excellent co-op and a selection of excellent independent stores to include two excellent butchers, a grocer, news agents & post office not to mention four pubs, café’s and an excellent Fish & Chip shop.
