Description

Viola Cottage once belonged to Meikleour Estate and was constructed in the early part of the 20th century. It is a single storey house (with a large floored loft) and has been extended over the years to form a characterful and comfortable modernised home. From the parking area a path winds through neat lawn to the front door and reception hall. On one side of the hall is the living accommodation which consists of a lovely bright sitting room with bay window and fireplace and a cosy living with log burner which links the kitchen on one side and via double doors to the dining room on the other. The dining room has sliding doors to the garden and is a great space for entertaining. The contemporary kitchen is immaculate and has a five ring gas hob as well as an island unit with breakfast bar and door to a large utility room.

The recently refurbished principal bedroom has a modern en suite bathroom and built in wardrobes, while the second double bedroom has an en suite shower room. There is also a separate WC. The cabinetry in the kitchen, utility room and principal bedroom suite is all hand crafted by Charles Yorke.

Guest Lodge
The guest lodge at Viola Cottage was completed in 2016 and was designed to be a versatile additional space which has been approved for us as an office, or as a self-contained cottage for holiday letting, guest accommodation or residential use. It has a quirky contemporary character and a lovely covered seating area outside.

Outside
The garden at Viola Cottage is a particular feature of the property. Extending to 0.76 acres, it is entirely enclosed and wonderfully private. At the front of the house the timber security gates open to a driveway and turning circle, with a branch of the driveway leading directly to the guest lodge if needed.
