Fine & Country - Canterbury Agent Valuation of this property is £800,000

Description:

This fascinating house with its mono pitched roof is a veritable Tardis of a property as it initially gives the appearance of a bungalow but is, in fact, an unusual two storey family home. Located on the corner of a quiet and peaceful cul-de-sac close to the clifftop at Dumpton Gap and the George VI Memorial Park, it nestles in the centre of a large plot and has delightful views across to the sea. It is approached via a long drive that leads to the garage and is flanked by impressive palm trees, shrub borders and gravel hardstanding for additional off road parking as well as the good sized inner front garden.

Steps lead up to the front door and, once inside, you can begin to appreciate the spaciousness of the property with its oak flooring that flows throughout the first floor. There are glazed doors to the large light and bright lounge/diner with its French doors and floor to ceiling side windows that lead to the front terrace. There are steps down to the charming, dual aspect study that would also make an excellent playroom or snug. There is a hatch to the kitchen with its range cooker and fitted units housing a built in microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer and an external door leading to steps down to the rear garden.

This floor also includes a family bathroom, two double bedrooms with views to the sea including one with a Juliette balcony and access to the partially boarded attic that could be converted to provide additional accommodation, subject to the necessary permissions. Downstairs there is a shower room and two double bedrooms that each have French doors to the rear garden as well as a large and well fitted utility room and laundry room.

Outside the front garden includes steps downs to the drive and a delightful fenced inner area with a terrace, lawn and flower borders surrounded by palm trees and is very safe and secure for children and pets. The lower rear garden is very private and includes a patio, lawn, shrub borders, a summerhouse and a large storage shed as well as a delightful decked terrace for al fresco dining.

What the Owner says:
We moved here about five years ago as we thought the property was delightful but our circumstances have changed and we hope another family will be able to enjoy it as much as we have. We have always loved the position of the property because it is so quiet and we are only a stone's throw from the clifftop and the memorial park if you want to take a dog for a run, while children can safely wander along to the sandy beach at Dumpton Gap. At the same time we are not far from Broadstairs town centre with its wide range of individual shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and only a mile from Dumpton Park Station although journey times are a little longer than if you go to Ramsgate station. From Ramsgate you can get the high speed train to London in about an hour and a quarter. Broadstairs is a delightful town with annual events such as Folk Week, the Dickens Festival and the Food Fair. It is also includes a local cinema and theatre, the excellent North Foreland Golf club, a bowls, tennis, rugby and cricket club and is not far from the Westwood Cross shopping centre, health clubs and a cinema and casino complex. There are also some primary and grammar schools rated Outstanding by Ofsted as well as excellent private schools in the vicinity.
