A substantial four-bedroom Edwardian home, recently refurbished by the present owners.
The ground floor consists of a large open plan lounge and dining area with feature period fireplaces and bay fronted windows leading to the garden, a downstairs cloakroom, t-shaped kitchen and breakfast area with separate, newly completed utility room.
The first floor comprises three generously sized double bedrooms, a double sized shower room and family bathroom. With the second floor loft conversion containing a bright double bedroom with ample storage, veluxes and side windows. Apart from the refurbishment of the house, the garden was improved by installing a decking area at the rear and a patio area near the French doors to the kitchen.
The back garden is a pleasant place to entertain as the sun is in the garden for most of the day and there are three different seating areas which work very well for parties. The front drive layout was modified to accommodate a second parking space and a striking Victorian tiled footpath to the front door.
Russell Road is a great road to live on, with friendly neighbours and a real village atmosphere. Linder's Fields are at the end of the road, leading to the highly regarded Roding Valley Park if you enjoy walking. You can kick a ball around at the cricket ground at the top of Luctons Avenue and have picnics in Epping Forest. There's so much for families to do here.
The house is also within easy reach of the Central Line as well as local shops, pubs and restaurants. Buckhurst Hill also has a Waitrose supermarket and is in catchment for a number of highly regarded schools.
What the Owner says:
On seeing the house for the first time, we were struck by the incredible sense of space and light within, emphasised by the high ceilings and large rooms and its wonderful position with fantastic views right over to Chigwell.
We were looking for a property that could offer us the most amount of room available for its range on the market, but since buying it, we've extended further, enhancing the living areas to include a large kitchen/dining area for entertaining and a separate utility room. Outside, we included a new brick-built barbecue, as well as an outside fridge.
We retained the beautiful period features, such as the elegant fireplaces and large windows, but added some modern high spec features such as double-glazed crittal-style windows and French doors. We've also had the stained-glass feature sash window and all bedroom sashes refurbished and double-glazed.
The whole house now looks and feels more modern and is better suited for family life - if we're working in the kitchen, we can keep an eye on the children!
We're very happy with the layout of the house and garden. The rooms flow easily and complement each other nicely, giving out a positive feel as you walk through.
