Description

Pump cottage is one of a pair of Grade II listed semi detached cottages close to the centre of this popular and well served village. Dating from the late 17th century the cottage is constructed of timber frame with rendered elevations under a steeply pitched slated roof with projecting dormers. To the rear of the original part of the cottage is a later addition dating from the 19th century which contains a good size family kitchen with a range of kitchen units and space for a breakfast table. Beyond the kitchen is a utility room and ground floor cloaks w.c.

At first floor level accessed via a modern staircase from the main reception room are three bedrooms (two doubles and a large single) together with a family bathroom. The smallest bedroom has a large cupboard in one corner. The cottage would benefit from some renovation and modernisation but recent works have included replacement of a flat roof over the downstairs cloakroom and there is oil fired central heating powered by an external boiler.

Outside
To the front of the cottages is a grassed area and access to the side of No 43 leads around to the large rear garden which is laid mainly to lawn with a variety of shrubs and trees and to the far end a concrete base which formerly housed an outbuilding.
